This show is organised by the Guildford Group and not the Gauge O Guild


The Rivermead Leisure Complex and Gym is situated on Richfield Avenue in Reading; postcode RG1 8EQ


Reading is easily reached on the M4 Motorway from London or the west, the A31 coming from the Basingstoke and the south and the A329 from Oxford.


Car parking is available at the Centre. The first three hours are free; then £2.50 for 5 hours and £5.00 for 24 hours expiring at midnight. Charges are payable at the machine by the main Reception entrance (at the time of writing) or via Ringo using the Location Code 15511.

The car park is currently managed by Gemini Parking Solutions. It is the responsibility of the car driver to pay for parking. The Guildford O Gauge Group will not be held responsible for any parking tickets incurred by drivers or any loss or damage while in the Centre.

Opposite the entrance to the Centre on the roundabout is Tessa Road. This leads into a complex of streets in an Industrial Estate. Many of the business are closed on Saturdays so there are free parking opportunities in these streets, at your own risk.

The nearest station on is Reading, about 10 minutes walk from the Rivermead Centre. Frequent trains run to many locations in England. The principal services are the GWR trains from Paddington to Wales and the West also Oxford, Birmingham, Guildford and Gatwick Airport.. Cross Country trains also operate from Reading. There is a Bus Stop on Richfield Avenue near the entrance to the Centre. The number 42 bus ( but not the number 42A) runs from here into the centre of Reading including Reading Station. The bus runs past the station on the south side along Forbury Road. Walk across the pedestrian precinct to get to the stop. Service frequency roughly every 40 minutes.

From Reading Station it is roughly 10 -15 minutes walk. If leaving the station on the south side head west, parallel to the railway to reach the Inner Distribution Road (what a wonderful name !) Turn right under the railway bridge (look out for pigeon droppings) and head up to the pedestrian controlled road crossing in the dual carriageway. Cross over here, walk north along the west side of the Inner Distribution Road to the roundabout and bear left into Caversham Road. At the next roundabout turn left into Richfield Road and the Centre is on the right after roughly 400 yards.

If leaving the Station on the North side head north along the path to Vastern Way. Turn left along Vastern Way to the roundabout. Head straight across into Caversham Road. At the next roundabout turn left into Richfield Road. and the centre is on the right after roughly 400 yards. The street map is here: - Map of reading station
